This year, the course “Project Work: Media Design” was offered for the first time during the summer semester.
From developing concepts for moving images through storyboarding, camera techniques, lighting, sound, codecs, and editing theory, all the way to producing their own 5-minute short documentary—the students were involved in the entire production process, from the initial idea to the finished film.
The result was 17 short documentaries created by the information design students, who worked in teams of up to four people. The choice of topics was entirely open and reflected the diversity of our students’ ideas and perspectives.
The grand finale was the screening at the Rechbauer Cinema, where all the films were shown on the big screen.
The Audience Award went to the short documentary “Heimgarten: Time to Grow.”
The film tells the story of the people at Heimgarten Steinfeld in Graz. With their knack for storytelling and subtle humor, the documentary team had the audience laughing more than once.
The legendary hosting duo Diana Kienzl and Bernhart Einsiedler charmed the audience throughout the morning.
