Go Cargo / Ride-Pooling vehicle

Master´s Thesis in cooperation with Volkswagen AG, Germany.

This vehicle envisions of what an autonomous ride-pooling service could look like in the future. It was developed by Leif Mortz as part of his Master’s thesis in Industrial Design.

With ride-pooling, several people with similar routes are grouped together in one vehicle. This reduces the number of vehicles required and the journey costs per person. The interior of the bidirectional vehicle can be equipped with 1-, 2- or 4- seater cabins to cater for different preferences in terms of privacy.

Access to the cabins is gained via hinged doors with running boards below to make boarding as easy as other public transport alternatives. Additional storage space in the front and rear of the vehicle makes it possible to transport larger luggage items and pets. The vehicle is designed as an alternative to owning a car in urban areas.
