In his master’s thesis, Markus Weber attempts to find out what means are needed to make a character and its personality tangible.

This master’s thesis attempts to find out what means are needed to make a character and its personality tangible. In addition to basic animation principles, the importance of emotional connections between the character and the viewer is also discussed. Furthermore, a look behind the facade of the most important task of animators is taken and how different animation techniques relate to each other. The theoretical part is based on research and numerous real‒life examples and the practical part of the master’s thesis compares different animation techniques in the form of an animated short film.
