Paparazzo is the name of a sensational photographer from the Fellini film “La Dolce Vita”, a name that has become proverbial for journalistic voyeurism.
Short audio pieces on the subject of “Paparazzi” were created at the Language Arts Institute of the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, in which the sensational, the iconic and the scandalous are mixed together. References were both the infamous photo series and scandal reports of the tabloid press, as well as their artistic paraphrases – for example the reenactments of the artist group GRAM or the thousands of texts of the now classic web platform “Wir höflichen Paparazzi”, which was founded in 1999 by Tex Rubinowitz and Christian Ankowitsch.
The complete audio design of the audio pieces was produced by the Sound Design Master’s program at FH-JOANNEUM & University of Art and Design Graz.
