The aim of this master’s thesis is to design an audio program which can create the sounds of monster steps through a combination of audio sampling and procedural sound generation. As regards the gaming industry and the ever-increasing game worlds, due to their flexibility, procedural sound design and interactive sound plugins represent a legitimate alternative to the traditional approaches of sound design in games.

Due to the authors’ employment in the company Novelab in Toulouse, which has specialized in, among other things, the development of procedural sound design solutions, important knowledge regarding the functionality, creation and design process of such programs was able to be collected.
