Hans Aubauer

Professional Background:
Dr. Hans Aubauer is Head of Health Insurance at UNIQA Insurance Group, overseeing operations in 14 countries with a premium volume of €1.5 billion. He also serves as CEO of UNIQA Health Services GmbH.

For ten years, he was the General Director of the Social Insurance Institution for the Self-Employed (SVS), which operates nationwide in Austria as a professional association. SVS provides comprehensive social security for all self-employed individuals in Austria, covering health, pension, and accident insurance. It manages nine healthcare facilities with over 1,000 beds, collaborates with 8,000 contracted physicians, 3,000 dentists, and another 9,000 partners, serving 1.4 million customers. The total budget volume exceeds €13.2 billion.

Previously, he led the healthcare division for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as Managing Director at Accenture. As a graduate engineer and PhD in business administration, he held various roles in the private sector, including international post-merger integration projects for banks and financial service providers in Austria, Eastern Europe, Germany, and the Netherlands, and served as CIO.

Education:
He completed a three-year postgraduate program to become a Chartered Financial Analyst. His focus lies in managing complex large-scale projects in both the private sector and public administration. In addition to lecturing at various universities, he has been active in healthcare for 35 years as a paramedic. Since 2025, he is a member of the executive board of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in Austria.
