In this course, important skills of oral interaction and interpersonal communication for managers are presented. This includes a presentation to an (also negative) audience, conducting meetings, listening and contributing to group decision-making. In teamwork, the students will present a specific topic. The course is divided into three sections: The "Project Assessment" section deals with the way in which an investment project is analyzed, how potential risks can be managed, taxes and inflation, the interest structure, the cost of capital and the desired return. The "Capital Markets" section includes the functions of the capital markets, sources of finance, business valuation and optimal portfolio allocation. The last section of the "Investment Calculation" addresses the issues of static and dynamic investment assessment, the optimal replacement time and aspects of international financing.

Perception, behavior and personality are influencing factors for social competence. In this lecture, personality theories are therefore discussed. The students are organized in a group formation in order to be able to understand how and why coherent groups form in an organization, which factors influence the effectiveness of the groups and how different work volumes affect the group dynamics. Furthermore, the different positions an individual can take in a group are examined.

This course deals with strategic and organizational matters in the development of new technologies and new business areas. Both large companies and aspiring, technology-based companies (start-ups) are discussed, and their different approaches to technology development are evaluated. Technology and innovation management comprises the planning, implementation and control of the development and application of (new) technologies in order to create competitive advantages with an impact on success. The section on entrepreneurship is about identifying (market) opportunities, finding (business) ideas and implementing them, as well as integrating the success factors of successful start-ups.
