This thesis provides an overview of the history of Reggae & Dub sound system culture, whose current local scene is represented through a series of interviews.
One focal point looks at horn‒type loudspeakers, as well as their simulation. Loudspeakers are then analyzed from an artistic point of view so that they can be understood as an instrument. The second part of the thesis documents the construction of a DIY Reggae & Dub sound system, with a focus on low frequency reproduction.
