Window to the world
This bachelor’s thesis is a project that emerges in the epicentre of unexpected times, in times of uncertainty and hope. A time to bring together people who have been asked to stay apart. The Window to the world project offers everyone the opportunity to share their everyday view from the window, their little escape during the COVID 19 pandemic. It is a collection that offers a virtual trip around the world and a glimpse into the lives of people around the world.
The author focuses on the development of the idea, delves into the pool of social distancing—the problem, the realisation, and the solution—and shares information about the psychology of loneliness and historical figures who created great inventions during the quarantine. The bachelor’s thesis aims to present a large part of the collection of lockdown window views from six continents and 34 different countries. It can serve as a global picture of this time in history and remind us that nothing can be taken for granted.
