Introduction to basic theory of game-based and adventure-based practice. Introduction of methods and exercises which will enable the participants to get a founded knowledge and reflect upon it. Students will learn the objectives of games and their use. The introduced methods can be applied in children and youth work as well as in community work.

Based on their own professional experience, students will reflect their own practical experience with theoretical concepts in a confidential group setting.
Theory and practice of youth and community work
Basic knowledge regarding concepts, methods and traditions of child and youth work as well as community work. Overview of professional fields. Organizing day-to-day professional life in agencies working with children, youth and families.
Introduction to theory of childhood and youth; basic knowledge regarding prevention and preventative measures and how to apply them in practice.
Overview of the Austrian legal system; overview of current legal situation regarding children and youth (e.g. children’s rights, current legal situation of migrants, youth protection, juvenile penal law etc.). Rights and obligations of children and youth.
