What I do

As a Key Account Manager at Eaton I am responsible for the branches of the electrical wholesales in Vienna, Niederösterreich and Burgenland and there I am responsible for about 12 Mio € of sales. At this job one of the most important things is the proper management of the relationship to our partners. Moreover, I am there first point of contact for projects, questions or problems.

Why I love my job

It is all about the diversity and variety which make the job so interesting, no day is like the other. Whether it is an appointment with the customer or a day in the office, the agenda is rarely the same. Additionally, it is the constant exchange with my customers, which makes me love my job.

Important skills in my job

All the skills what we got are important. This helps to understand my customers, but also to communicate properly with them. It is important to be able to understand the big picture to generate potential or to help the customer best.

The best experiences in my job

It is the constant evolution in my current company Eaton. I started as an intern in project management, during my studies. Then they offered me a fixed position as a project manager and recently I was able to move to the sales department as Key Account Manager.

How I found my current job

Due to the mandatory internship during the bachelor program at FH Joanneum you are in early stages forced to look for a proper company. For me it was a good decision to take that challenge of an internship at Eaton, so I got remained.

What I learned for this job during my studies at FH JOANNEUM:

The bachelor program MIG prepared me ideally on a personal, but also on a functional basis for my future jobs, as well as for a Master program. MIG is the best bachelor program because you get a broad and well-grounded education, which helps you to understand, interpret and analyze the processes of a company – which is important for many different jobs.

Job prospects in my field

Are quite big. The universal education from the program MIG is so diverse that you can find jobs on many different fields and areas, like in project management or sales.

About my job

In my job, customer loyalty is an important factor. Therefore, especially communication, understanding of the customer as well as fast problem solving are key to succeed. A good mixture between analytical office work and field work make my job so interesting.
