What I do:
- Clinical history and informing patients about the upcoming examination, the contrast media used and any risks
- Intravenous application of contrast media and patient follow-up
- Operating the CT scanner including data post-processing
Why I love my job and what is important to me:
- Working at the interface between people, medicine and technology
- The varied work
- Direct contact with patients and operating complex radiological equipment
What I don’t like so much about my job:
- Weekend work
- High number of patients in primary care

My biggest success / my greatest experience
As a radiographer, I am happy when I am able to make an examination as pleasant as possible for the patients. A little ‘Thank you – that wasn’t so bad after all’ at the end of an examination always fills me with pride.
I am equally proud of having successfully completed a part-time Master’s degree in Digital Healthcare. This enabled me to address the interface between technology & medicine in more detail and to acquire new skills.
How I found my current job
I came across this job by chance via a fellow student on the Master’s course.
What I learned for this job during my studies:
Aside from the basics such as anatomy, pathology, radiation physics etc. which I learned during my Bachelor’s degree in Radiography, I am also happy about the various internships which offer the chance to ‘find’ your own interests and learn how to deal with patients.
Job prospects in my field:
Following successful completion of the course, there are excellent opportunities for gaining a wide range of jobs in radiology.
