Students on the part-time Bachelor’s degree programme in Banking, Insurance and Finance also have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of our partner universities. This option not only opens up new professional perspectives for students, but also strengthens their intercultural skills – a decisive advantage for careers in the international finance and insurance environment.
A semester abroad enables students to familiarise themselves directly with international financial markets, regulatory frameworks and economic cultures. Topics such as banking, insurance, asset management and digitalisation can be explored in depth from a global perspective. Particularly in view of the increasing interconnectedness of the financial markets, this experience abroad is a valuable part of your education – both professionally and personally.
Our partner universities are located in cities such as Barcelona, Copenhagen, Amsterdam or Stockholm and offer excellent study conditions with a focus on finance, banking, international business or the digital economy. The courses completed there can be integrated into the curriculum and credited to the degree programme – in many cases without extending the duration of the programme.
Students also receive comprehensive organisational support from the International Office and the Institute of Banking and Insurance – from the selection of suitable universities and applications to the recognition of courses. There is also the opportunity to carry out practical projects or final theses in cooperation with international companies or research institutions.
A semester abroad not only promotes professional and linguistic development, but is often also a decisive impetus for starting a career in an international environment – be it with multinational banks, insurance groups, supervisory authorities or consulting firms.
If you have international ambitions and want to understand finance in a global context, a stay abroad is the ideal complement to a part-time degree programme – and a real career booster.
