EU4DUAL Annual Conference

EU4DUAL-Jahreskonferenz auf Malta 1

On April 10 and 11, the first EU4DUAL Annual Conference on the Future of Work and Dual Higher Education took place at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).

Over 200 participants from universities, colleges and industry partners took part in the conference. A total of 52 papers were presented, including 7 from FH JOANNEUM. There were also panel discussions, keynote presentations and networking events. One of the keynote presentations was given by Markus Tomaschitz, Chief Human Resource Officer at AVL and FH JOANNEUM’s representative in the EU4DUAL Industry Consultative Council.

The rectors of all consortium partners, the EU4DUAL Industry Consultative Council and the Regional Stakeholder Council met in the days leading up to the conference. The EU4DUAL Student Council also met for the first time. The students welcome the new opportunities that EU4DUAL offers students, in particular international mobility as part of the dual study program. Three FH JOANNEUM students from the dual study program Mobile Software Development participated - find out more about our representatives on the EU4DUAL Student Council here.

Statement by Corinna Engelhardt-Nowitzki: "The first EU4DUAL Annual Conference was a great success. I am proud of the many excellent contributions made by FH JOANNEUM staff and am delighted that students are now also integrated into the Alliance with the establishment of the Student Council. In close cooperation with our international partner universities, many exciting topics are now on the agenda for EU4DUAL, in particular the development of the joint master’s programs, the definition of new research projects and in-depth networking with our industry partners."

In addition to the conference and meeting program, there were also many opportunities to make contacts and exchange ideas for joint projects. It was very exciting for the FH JOANNEUM team to visit our new partner university, the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology, and to gain an insight into Maltese university life.
