SCHLOSSBERGBAHN GRAZ / Design Competition

"Eyes On Graz" (1st prize) within the framework of GRAZ, European Capital of Culture 2003.

The funicular railway to the Schlossberg in Graz and the cars in use received new superstructures in 2003 and were modernized together with the drive technology. The Industrial Design course was therefore invited to a design competition by the Stadtwerke Graz. The winning project is characterized by a very independent, concise appearance (despite the strongly reduced formal language). The refined aesthetics thus promises both longevity and distinctiveness. The glass cars provide an exciting view.
