Her research focusses on

-the sensory perception with regard to taste and smell sensitivity and identification performance.
-the interaction of food choice behaviour and preferences interact with human nutrition in relation to body composition and metabolic health related biomarker (e.g. glucose and fat metabolism, inflammation and microbiome) in adults and children
- acceptance testing and related development of health orientated products
-Exploring phytochemicals/food ingredients with health potetial
-arranging and managing human studies

She is involved in teaching across the degree programmes of Dietetics and Nutrition, Applied Nutritional Medicine, Sustainable Food Management, and Food: Product and Process Development.

She is Senior Lecturer (since 2018) and FH-professor (since 2024) in full time at the Institute of Dietetics and Nutrition with >16 years of research experience.
She was on diverse research exchanges in Australia (Griffith University), Germany (TTZ Bremerhaven) and Poland (Medical University of Lodz). She was a principal co-applicant in the EU-Horizon funded Shift2Health consortium, where she is present PI for FHJ. She is experienced in the leading of work package (with focus on sensory science, health and nutrition) in two capacity building projects (COIN funded by FFG). And was PI at the FHJ for national and international projects on sensory perception and health outcomes. She has published almost 40 peer-reviewed publications and is giving (invited) presentations nationally and internationally. She is supervising and co-supervising bachelor, masters and diploma projects and further PhD projects.
