In this course students focus on advanced statistical analysis by using state-of-the-art statistical software. They learn how to visually present and interpret results. A special emphasis is given to multivariate analysis of big data volumes.
The course offers a comprehensive look at Emerging Markets from an overall and interdisciplinary business perspective. The students will holistically repeat and deepen their understanding about the facts, opportunities, threats and challenges regarding doing business in Emerging Markets.
Based on the theories of project management, strategy development and business plan design, the students will develop a business idea as well as a related strategy and business plan for a startup operating in an emerging market. Social business ideas are prefered. The outcome of this project is then presented to a group of experts and discussed with them.
One part of this course focuses on professional communication in English with regard to conflict resolution and negotiation processes. Theoretical concepts with regard to conflict resolution and negotiation are also introduced. Another part of the course is designed to combine the discussed theories within various practical settings. The practical examples, case studies and/or simulations are intended to further develop student's competencies and knowledge of the most important aspects of negotiation and conflict resolution processes in multicultural situations.

This cross-cultural orientation workshop provides a highly practical setting where diversity and various cultural backgrounds are reflected upon, thus contributing to the personal development of students of all nationalities. In this workshop, students share their experiences and improve cross-cultural competences by reflecting on their experience abroad and by delivering professional presentations.
In this course students develop their own research project in teams. This comprises of the elaboration of a research design, the necessary data collection, analysis, visualisation and interpretation of the gathered data as well as the writing of a research report based on scientific standards. The results will be basically presented to a group of experts and discussed.

Within this course students closely interact with representatives from companies active in emerging markets and/or developing countries. On the one hand students learn more about these companies and on the other hand students have the possibility to establish business contacts.
Based on various theoretical concepts and skills, students will holistically analyse and evaluate advanced business cases. The goal of this course is to derive strategic recommendations based on findings of previously conducted analyses.
Students carry out a research project independently and write their own scientific Master’s Thesis. The thesis is presented to an examination committee, where the findings have to be defended. During this committee examination the students are expected to establish interdisciplinary connections to other relevant issues in the context of Emerging Markets. Additionally, the students are examined regarding general topics related to Emerging Markets.
During this course students present their progress regarding the Master’s Thesis according to scientific standards. They learn how to give and accept constructive feedback and to integrate it into their further research.
