The Electronics and Computer Engineering (BSc) Degree Programme

The Bachelor’s degree programme in Electronics and Computer Engineering brings together electronics, computer science, sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and embedded systems to create a modern, practice-oriented engineering education. From the very first semester, students develop solutions used in networked devices, robots, autonomous systems, and industrial applications.

State-of-the-art laboratories for embedded systems, sensor technology, and prototyping

In several specialised laboratories—including the Electronic Design Lab, the Embedded Systems Lab, the AIMotion Lab, and the Project Lab—students work directly on real engineering tasks. Many teaching and seminar rooms are designed as hands-on experimental spaces, ensuring a seamless blend of theory and practice. Students have access to the laboratories at any time using their student ID card.

Excellent support and practice-based teaching

Small groups, practical exercises, and tutorial support make it easier—particularly in the first semesters—to progress in the core areas of electrical engineering, programming, and embedded systems. Flipped-classroom models create space for collaborative work, project development, and individual guidance.

A modern curriculum

Electronics, AI, embedded Linux, and machine learning

The curriculum includes both foundational and advanced subjects, such as:
Sensor Technology

  • Applied Machine Learning
  • Embedded Linux Development
  • Prototyping and Device Assembling
  • Numerical Methods with Python
  • Quantum Computing

Flexible elective modules allow students to tailor their focus to electronics, computer science, or embedded systems.

An international engineering degree in Graz

A fully English-taught fifth semester, Erasmus placements, and Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) open up international perspectives and promote exchange with students from across Europe and beyond. This broadens the academic horizon and enhances future career opportunities.

Future skills and excellent career prospects

Alongside technical training, the programme deliberately strengthens future-oriented skills such as project management, teamwork, presentation techniques, and technical writing. Close cooperation with industry partners and strong demand for skilled professionals ensure excellent career opportunities in fields such as embedded systems, IoT, electronics development, AI, automation, and automotive engineering.

Electronics and Computer Engineering – the engineering degree for the future

Electronics and Computer Engineering is ideal for anyone who wishes to develop technological solutions and help shape the applications of tomorrow—hands-on, international, and future-proof.
