Occupational Therapy

After Graduation

Career paths

Once they have successfully completed their studies our graduates are entitled to work as occupational therapists. They work mainly at health establishments or in social services. A further option is to work on a self-employed basis: our graduates can open their own practices, join group practices or work as mobile occupational therapists, visiting clients in their own homes and treating them in the home environment. In health promotion and disease prevention the emphasis is on finding ways to improve health with a focus on projects and advisory services. Employers in this area include establishments, companies and local authorities.

Occupational therapy is not only a feature of western countries but is also needed in Africa and Asia, for example. Our graduates are therefore able to work abroad as well. Depending on the country involved additional recognition of the qualification may be necessary.

A Master’s degree and an academic career are also options for our graduates.
