Semester abroad

An international experience is now an essential part of a future-proof technical education. In Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECE), international collaboration is second nature: global companies, worldwide innovation networks, and intercultural teams shape your future professional life. That’s why we offer numerous opportunities to make your studies international – hands-on, well-supported, and flexibly planned.

First International Experience: BIPs in the 4th and 5th Semesters

If you want to gain international experience early, you can participate in Erasmus+-funded Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) during your fourth or fifth semester.

You prepare for a course with us and then complete the in-depth content, including the assessment, at a partner university abroad within one to two weeks. This allows you to gain initial international experience without losing continuity in your studies – ideal preparation for larger international steps later on.

Why a Semester Abroad Advances Your Career

Studying abroad enhances your technical skills, personal development, and international competence. You experience new ways of working, broaden your horizons, and gain a clear advantage in the global job market. International. Hands-on. Future-proof.

tip

All courses in the fifth semester are taught entirely in English, enabling you to learn technical English directly within your degree programme.

How does it work?

The semester abroad can be completed in the fifth semester in line with the curriculum. You can apply for an Erasmus+ grant to cover the higher living costs if completing the semester in Europe. If you are going to be staying outside Europe you can apply for various other forms of funding and we are happy to help with this.

Partner universities

We have succeeded in establishing teaching and project partnerships with various prestigious universities through a number of projects, cooperative ventures and personal contacts. This international collaboration on innovative projects feeds the latest technical findings into teaching and also offers students the opportunity to become involved in project work. We continually strive to improve our programme with our partner universities so that you derive maximum benefit from your time with them.
