Travel accounts for the largest share of resource consumption and emissions from tourism products. Seasonal travel also represents an additional burden. Enabling low-emission and, above all, public mobility is therefore the most important measure in the process of a sustainable transformation of tourism. However, the “last mile” from the train station to the hotel is always central to the acceptance of such offers, as is the facilitation of guest mobility on site. In the course, the central problems of the prevailing tourism and leisure mobility are presented and the main types of sustainable vacation mobility are compared. Successful measures are presented and analyzed in terms of their strengths and weaknesses. New forms of mobility such as eFuels, eBikes and car sharing as well as the trend towards active, health-promoting mobility are also explained.
