Semester Abroad
Would you like to broaden your horizons and experience international markets first-hand? FH JOANNEUM has a continuously growing university network of over 200 partners around the world. As part of the Master's programme in Global Green and Social Business (specialisation in the Master's programme Global Strategic Management), you will spend your third semester at one of our partner universities in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North or South America. FH JOANNEUM has a continuously growing university network of over 200 partners around the world.
During this compulsory semester abroad, a total of 30 ECTS points must be collected. Please find the exact division of the courses in the curriculum. The semester abroad consists of courses which take place at the partner university, as well as an accompanying seminar (which takes place online), and a project work abroad. Additionally, the content of at least 10 ECTS points from the semester abroad must be assignable to the specialisation in Global Green and Social Business.
Partner Universities
We select our numerous partner universities according to strict criteria. In terms of content, they overlap with our range of courses, but at the same time, they offer you the opportunity of a specialisation. You do not pay any tuition fees at our partner universities.
Financial Support
The International Relations Office at FH JOANNEUM endeavours to advise students in regard to external financial support for the semester abroad. The following financing options are currently available:
- the "Erasmus +" grant to study abroad in the EU Member States plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Macedonia and Turkey
- the “Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility“: Scholarship for semesters abroad at selected non-European partner universities
- the Swiss European Mobility Programme for students who want to spend their semester abroad in Switzerland
- the CEEPUS-Scholarship for a study abroad at one selected CEEPUS partner university in Central and Eastern Europe.
Please note that these scholarships are only granted under certain conditions. They partly depend on your home country, the host country, and your age. We cannot guarantee that each student receives a scholarship. However, there is the possibility for students to receive target group-specific or research-specific scholarships or mobility grants.
