Midwifery
After GraduationThe majority of our graduates start out in their careers straightaway both to apply their knowledge and because many Master’s courses in the midwifery sector require some professional experience beforehand.
Job prospects for our graduates are excellent both in Austria and abroad. Some of them work at hospitals in the outpatients sector, the delivery room or postnatal wards, either as an assistant or head midwife. Others work as freelance midwives and deal with antenatal care, home births or postnatal care at home. They also work in gynaecology practices or run courses. Teaching and research are other fields of activity.
Wages vary significantly depending on the field as well as the night shift or public holiday premiums offered.
