Aviation

The interdisciplinary Master’s course focuses on the latest technologies, innovative management and sustainable aviation. You can also contribute your knowledge to our ‘joanneum Aeronautics’ team which enters its self-built aircraft into competitions across the world. This will provide you with the ideal basis for launching a career in the international aviation industry.

Did you know, …

… that the master course in Aviation is the ideal complement to the bachelor course in Aviation?

We are the only university in Austria to cover the entire range of aviation-related topics – from aircraft to air traffic operations and management. And we have been doing so since 2001.

Did you know, …

… that you can take part in current research projects?

We cover a range of research activities from aircraft and drone construction to aerodynamics, aircraft electronics, flight control and flight simulation. As a master student, you will also form part of the research team!

Did you know, …

… that you can specialise as part of your course?

You can determine the direction of your studies from the very first semester. A catalogue of elective subjects gives you a head start over the more fixed curricula.

Did you know, …

… that you can become a member of the ‘joanneum aeronautics’ team and compete with other universities?

Our student team design and build aircraft which take part in international competitions. Your involvement is always welcome in all of the aviation disciplines!

Did you know, …

… that most of our graduates have already found an employer when they complete their master thesis?

The aviation industry continues to grow year-on-year and requires a significant number of professionals. Thanks to the internship and the master thesis, our students are able to establish contacts in the industry at a very early stage. Many then start out their career with the company where they completed their internship.
