Technical Documentation

My Studies

“Over the course of the 16 years that I’ve been working in the automotive industry, technical documentation has developed into a complex and multifaceted process. Technical editors have successfully developed their professional activities into positions of responsibility with a significant level of management attention and have become highly regarded partners in all business operations.”

DI Werner Schwaiger, initiator of the course, previously responsible for technical documentation / operating instructions within the BMW Group

We make technology easy to understand

The internationalisation of companies together with the requirement to reach different target groups with different documentation products while at the same time keeping costs as low as possible are among the future challenges to be faced by documentation professionals in companies. The postgraduate Master’s course addresses such challenges – our students extend their specialist knowledge and develop their professional skills both on an academic level and in discussions with experts from relevant fields.

Study mode, self-study and attendance

The course is organised on a part-time basis and includes modular compulsory attendance phases (a total of around eleven weekends in the first two semesters) as well as e-learning and supervised self-guided study. Appointments for the Master’s thesis seminar in the third semester are arranged on an individual basis.

The course is designed to meet the needs of students in employment and is particularly suitable for those who already have experience of working in specific fields of technical documentation. Due consideration is given to professional experience in the teaching concept developed for the course.
