Requirements for completing the degree programme

To successfully complete your studies, you must:

  • Pass all courses
  • Write a Bachelor’s thesis, which must be positively evaluated
  • Pass the Bachelor’s examination (final assessment)

Upon graduation, you will be awarded the academic title: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc)

Bachelor’s Thesis – your entry into research and practice

With your Bachelor’s thesis, you gain your first experience in research and development and prepare optimally for the professional world.

You may propose your own topic or choose from a wide range of R&D projects offered by the programme. Collaboration with a company is also possible – we have a long list of industry partners.

Teamwork? No problem! Many topics can be tackled collaboratively. Whatever you choose, we provide personal guidance and excellent supervision throughout the process.

Bachelor’s examination – your final step to graduation

The Bachelor’s examination takes place after you have successfully completed all courses and the internship in the sixth semester. The examination is a public, committee-based assessment conducted by a faculty panel.

It consists of:

  • A presentation of your Bachelor’s thesis in English
  • An oral examination discussing your work and its connection to selected areas of your studies

With the knowledge gained during your studies, you are well-prepared to demonstrate your skills in this final assessment.

After graduation – opportunities ahead

With your Bachelor’s degree, you will have a hands-on education that allows for direct entry into the professional world. You will be well-prepared for exciting roles in industry, research, or start-ups.

But why stop there? Further education pays off – both for your career and personal development. That’s why we recommend our Electronics Master’s programmes at FH JOANNEUM:

A Master’s degree expands your competencies, increases your career opportunities, and opens doors to leadership positions and international projects.

The main reasons for choosing this degree programme were the chance to obtain practical training as well as the modern labs. The combination of study and practical work lead to some interesting projects with a personal level of supervision at FH JOANNEUM.
