This integrated course provides comprehensive knowledge of general business management. It covers general business processes, provides an insight into how companies operate and presents business management as an academic discipline (central premises and models). The course also addresses the corporate production and sales process (integrative/SCM-oriented) and explores selected functional divisions, e.g. materials management and production.

This course focuses on providing the fundamentals of law, the Austrian legal system and the basics of EU law. Practically relevant topics such as contract, business and tort law are also covered. Students also receive an introduction to the fundamentals of environmental constitutional law.

In this course students learn how to prepare and present content in a professional manner. Students are able to prepare a presentation tailored to the target audience and structure it according to their objectives, effectively visualise the core content of the presentation, speak with confidence, use media professionally and deal with any mishaps that may occur.

This lecture gives an introduction to electrical and thermal energy generation and distribution. It covers the fundamentals of electrical engineering and thermodynamics and provides and introduction to energy management for power, heat and gas.
Mobility Systems 1 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326106 Environmental & Mobility Systems 3 SWS 3 ECTS
This integrated course presents the various types and designs of modern transport networks (including their historical development). Key characteristics and basic parameters of the individual transport modes and infrastructures will be discussed. The relationship between mobility and other technical and social domains will be explained based on practical exercises.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 1 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326103 Applied Computer Science I 2 SWS 3 ECTS
This integrated course provides an introduction to using office software for handling larger datasets. Real-life measurement data are used to carry out data manipulations, calculations, evaluations and simple programming exercises. The structure and applications of databases will also be explained.

This integrated course offers an introduction to the applied sciences by addressing the key fields of classical physics relevant to the programme.

This integrated course covers the mathematical and statistical methods necessary for solving typical tasks relevant to the programme using a practical approach.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 1 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326102 Introduction to General Chemistry 2 SWS 3 ECTS
The lecture gives an introduction to the field of general chemistry. It covers basics (e.g. periodic table), chemical reactions, properties of solids, liquids and gases as well as chemical fundamentals of energy sources. It aims to build a fundamental chemical understanding of combustion reactions, materials science, electrochemistry, environmental process engineering, environmental chemistry, fuels and other topics relevant to the programme. The lecture is supported by laboratory exercises.

2. Semester

Business Administration and Management 2 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326209 Business Management II 4 SWS 5 ECTS
This integrated course provides knowledge in the areas of accounting & cost accounting, the structure of corporate accounting systems, financial accounting and balance sheets, financial statement analysis and cost accounting. The following accounting topics will be addressed in more detail: overview of taxation (practical relevance for sole traders), basics of income and expenditure accounting (practical relevance for sole traders and start-up companies).
Business Administration and Management 2 | Seminar (Se) | Coursecode: 180326210 English II - Focus on the environment 2 SWS 2 ECTS
This course is designed to enhance the students’ oral communication skills and combines existing vocabulary knowledge with technical terminology related to environmental impacts and technologies. The group project is aimed at combining the technical vocabulary with the relevant language devices (e.g.: language of presentations, language of statistics). This practice-oriented course also provides an interdisciplinary link to a technical course of the 2nd semester.

Course content:

- Reports, descriptions of graphs and trends
3) Focus on current events and trends
- the environment and specialised vocabulary (e.g.: raw materials, industrial hazards, etc.)

- focus on topics related to environmental impacts (e.g.: transport and health)
Corporate Environmental Management 1 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326201 Environmental Chemistry 2 SWS 2 ECTS
This integrated course provides detailed knowledge of the generation and impact of emissions on water bodies and soils and deals with important measures designed to protect these environmental compartments. Topics also include interpretation of analytical methods and important cycles of matter (nitrogen, phosphorus).
Energy Engineering and Energy Management 2 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326202 Energy Sources 2 SWS 2 ECTS
The integrated course presents the different energy sources including exploitation, transport, storage etc. Both fossil and renewable energy sources are considered from the perspective of usability, environmental impact, etc. The course also covers key indicators of energy sources and energy conversion as well as basic economic aspects.
Mobility Systems 2 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326208 Mobility Systems I 4 SWS 4 ECTS
This integrated course provides students with knowledge of urban and regional planning in order to enable them to design optimal living spaces and regions with due consideration of the environmental impacts involved. Existing mobility systems will be analysed and weaknesses assessed. The course covers a range of transport routes from road, rail, water and air to pipelines and gives an overview of the different transport modes. Topics also include transport, storage and loading devices and an overview of modern and future mobility systems.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 2 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326206 Applied Mathematics & Statistics II 3 SWS 4 ECTS
This integrated course teaches students to solve relevant tasks of Module NWG1 using numerical approaches. They learn to use office software and receive an introduction to the use of the MATLAB/Simulink software package.

This integrated course deals with design fundamentals and offers and introduction to CAD-based design and engineering using CAD tools.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 2 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326203 Electrical Engineering 3 SWS 4 ECTS
The lecture addresses different conduction mechanisms, electrical and magnetic fields and their applications (electrical generators and drives, transformers), fundamental laws of current circuits, AC and three-phase technologies, and provides an introduction to measurement engineering.

This lecture provides a comprehensive overview of materials science and materials properties. It covers metals, plastics, ceramics, insulation materials and other materials relevant to the degree programme.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 2 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326204 Thermodynamics 2 SWS 3 ECTS
The lecture builds on the basic concepts of thermodynamics (state, state variable, process) to teach the first and second laws of thermodynamics. State variables and thermodynamic processes are visually represented in state diagrams (Ts, hs, pv). The thermodynamic properties of working media such as water/steam, ideal gases and gas mixtures are presented. The Carnot cycle is used as an example of an ideal reference process.

3. Semester

This integrated course provides skills in strategic & business planning, strategic analysis and planning (medium-term planning, preparation of business plans), investment planning and appraisal as well as integrated planning.
Business Administration and Management 3 | Seminar (Se) | Coursecode: 180326310 English III - Focus on Mobility 2 SWS 2 ECTS
This course focuses on professional English for business and industry by preparing students for an internship and the application process. Existing vocabulary knowledge is combined with technical terminology related to mobility and transportation. The group project is aimed at applying the technical vocabulary and language devices learned on the course.

Business Administration and Management 3 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326309 Technical Documentation 2 SWS 2 ECTS
The thematic focus of this course is on the establishment of information and knowledge management systems. Topics include information search, market analysis, information collection and didactic condensation and interpretation for further use in company manuals. The course covers the analysis and presentation of corporate technical processes and the preparation of technical documentation required in practice such as high-quality technical manuals and operating instructions.
Corporate Environmental Management 2 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326302 Environmental Impacts in the Energy & Transport Sectors 3 SWS 3 ECTS
This integrated course deals with emissions from energy and transport and their impact on the atmosphere. Topics also include environmental impacts of hydropower plants, noise and electromagnetic radiation (correctly: electromagnetic fields) and conventional measures used to reduce and prevent emissions.
Corporate Environmental Management 2 | Lecture (Vo) | Coursecode: 180326301 Resource Management 3 SWS 3 ECTS
This lecture addresses the use of key resources, with the exception of the energy sources themselves (separate lecture). Students are also introduced to the topic of life cycle analysis for selected materials and products.
Energy Engineering and Energy Management 3 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326303 Renewable Energy Technologies 2 SWS 3 ECTS
This integrated course provides a detailed insight into major technologies for harnessing renewable energy sources. In addition to classical renewable energy sources such as sun, wind and water, the course also covers geothermal energy, tidal energy and heat pumps. The theoretical content is supplemented by practical laboratory exercises.
Energy Engineering and Energy Management 3 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326304 Thermal Energy Technology 3 SWS 4 ECTS
After a brief recap of mathematical and thermodynamic basics, this integrated course explains the cycle processes of thermal energy engineering (Rankine, Brayton, Otto, Diesel etc.), followed by a description of the most common technological components. In addition to power generation, the course also presents technologies for the supply and distribution of heat (combined heat and power, boiler technology, district heating). A field trip gives students an insight into practical application.
Mobility Systems 3 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326307 Mobility Systems II 4 SWS 4 ECTS
This integrated course provides students with detailed knowledge of multimodal logistics concepts, transport networks and transport chains as well as efficient transport solutions taking account of future flows of goods and people. Students also gain knowledge of survey processes based on the relevant standards and regulations and are made familiar with different methods for investigation, analysis and validation (statistical evaluation using SPSS software).
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 3 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326306 Building Technology & Management 2 SWS 3 ECTS
This integrated course provides students with knowledge of building technology in the fields of heating, cooling, ventilation and automation. The most commonly used building management concepts and tools are also presented.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 3 | Seminar (Se) | Coursecode: 180326305 Project, Process and Quality Management 2 SWS 3 ECTS
This course provides students with the fundamental principles of project management, process management and quality management. They learn a structured project approach as a basis for other courses and as preparation for the world of work. The course covers the fundamentals of project management (e.g. classical basic functions and methods of project management), process management (e.g. definition of core processes and support processes) and quality management.

4. Semester

This course is designed to enhance the students' writing skills with a special focus on formal and scientific writing. The thematic focus of this course is on familiarising students with the procedures and methods of professional innovation management, from the idea to successful product marketing. Key innovation steps are taught with a practical approach, including development of an innovation strategy, implementation steps, innovation controlling and trend topics such as open innovation or innovation networks.

This lecture covers the employer and employee obligations as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (ASchG) and the fundamentals of the relevant provisions (e.g.: ISO 45001).

This course teaches students how to design and present modern, successful applications and how to design powerful company presentations.

This integrated course covers important processes in industrial process engineering and provides knowledge of emission reduction technologies. Students are enabled to assess large-scale industrial processes in terms of emissions and energy efficiency and to propose improvements.
Corporate Environmental Management 3 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326403 Sensors in Environmental Engineering 2 SWS 3 ECTS
This integrated course provides an understanding of the key components of measuring paths and enables students to design and operate an environmental monitoring system. The course covers all components along the measuring path (different sensors), amplification, linearisation as well as frequent measurement errors and systematic storage of measurement data (Big Data).

This lecture provides in-depth knowledge of the requirements of recycling management, including the treatment and recycling of relevant materials.
Energy Engineering and Energy Management 4 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326404 Energy Management 3 SWS 4 ECTS
This integrated course presents an introduction to the Austrian energy market and the principles of the European energy market. Topics include the liberalisation of the power and gas markets, energy generation, energy transmission and distribution and energy markets including energy exchanges. Another focus is on explaining the methodology of power and gas billing from the perspective of different customer groups and the situation and funding instruments for renewable energy sources.
Mobility Systems 4 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326406 Infrastructure Management 3 SWS 3 ECTS
This integrated course provides a profound overview of planning, routing, road design, road cross-section, road design methodology and operation of transport infrastructure including economic efficiency calculation taking into account relevant environmental impacts (EIA, integration of LCA). Another focus is placed on relevant official approval procedures and exercises in designing transport routes in compliance with the regulations using AutoCAD.
Mobility Systems 4 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326407 Mobility Management 3 SWS 4 ECTS
As mobility infrastructure is often the responsibility of public administration, this course provides and discusses the legal and commercial fundamentals of transport infrastructure and operators in the private, commercial and public transport sector. The course also covers construction, operation and use of mobility infrastructure in the form of cost/benefit analyses and discusses national and international transport policies.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 4 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326405 Applied Computer Science II 3 SWS 4 ECTS
The course provides students with in-depth knowledge of applied computer science with a focus on topics of future relevance, i.e. digitalisation, big data and networking (Industry 4.0). The module deals with statistical and data analysis of large datasets using widespread software tools such as MS-Excel, Matlab/Simulink and MS-Access.

The thematic focus of this course is on familiarising students with the methods, tools and concepts of modern marketing. It covers the fundamentals and definition of marketing (mission, vision, objectives, strategy, implementation), marketing planning and strategies based on a business model (target group analysis, segmentation and targeting, value proposition design, marketing mix, dissemination strategies of innovation) as well as case studies for developing a marketing concept for an innovative idea.

This course deals with the fundamentals of modern measurement, control and automation technology in automated production. Students are enabled to understand and assess modern production environments using examples from practice.

This integrated course offers an introduction to the characteristics, functioning principles and dimensioning of standard components of distribution networks for power, gas and heat. It also covers the basic skills required for the design and dimensioning of energy distribution networks.

This integrated course provides an introduction to the characteristics, functioning principles and dimensioning of existing and future energy storage systems. It covers electrical, thermal, mechanical and chemical energy storage units and their applications. Another focus is on the fundamentals of successful design and optimisation of distribution networks for power, gas and heat.
Mobility Systems 5 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326506 Innovative Mobility Solutions 2 SWS 2 ECTS
This integrated course gives students a comprehensive overview of innovative mobility solutions such as electric mobility, car sharing, transport services like Uber, autonomous driving, smart journey, telematics and the associated concepts, challenges, advantages and disadvantages. The course also examines the impact of these new technologies and concepts on cities/regions.
Mobility Systems 5 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326505 Smart City & Sustainable Future Concepts 2 SWS 2 ECTS
This integrated course provides profound knowledge of future sustainable urban and regional development concepts such as transit oriented development (TOD). The impacts of increasing urbanisation and demographic change on mobility are explored from the perspective of traffic psychology and sociology.
Scientific and Technical Fundamentals 5 | Integrated course (iL) | Coursecode: 180326504 Numerical Simulation and Modelling 3 SWS 4 ECTS
This course provides students with advanced knowledge of applied modelling and simulation of technical systems using MATLAB/Simulink and Scilab/Xcos software. This knowledge is consolidated with practical electrical and mechanical examples.

This integrated course presents an approach to identifying energy efficiency deficits and provides an overview of assessment methods and best practice examples.
