DI (FH) Rashmi Jawahar Ganesh

Graduate of the Energy Technologies degree programme.

Rashmi works as a consultant at UNIDO and focuses on international projects for climate protection and social justice.

🎓What I studied: Master’s degree  Energy and Transport Management

♻ My Job: International Consultant- Fair Production, Sustainable Supply Chains and Trade in Vienna, Austria

📭 How to reach me: LinkedIn

Me in three emojis: 🌱 ✨ 🌍

In my freetime: Exploring nature, curating art and poetry, meaningful conversations.

The coolest internship: was with Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st century (REN21) in Paris.

If I had not studied Energy and Transport Management, I would be: A development journalist or documentary filmmaker amplifying unheard voices.

This is where I spent my time after classes: The library or walking in circles reflecting on big ideas.

Tell us about your job, without mentioning your job: I help climate heroes turn bold ideas into real impact.

If my degree programme had a superpower, it would be: systems thinking – the ability to see how everything is connected.

This is what you will definitely learn: How to manage complexity and build practical bridges between the environment, infrastructure and society.

The best course was: Integration of Renewable Energy Sources – The course has awakened my passion for clean energy and made me realise that I want to dedicate my career to climate innovations.

I struggled a bit in this course: Emission Control – an essential course, but the technical complexity was a bit of a problem for me.

FunFact from the course? Thanks to a seminar, I can now estimate the energy yield of rooftop solar panels — surprisingly useful during neighborhood walks!

You don’t have to have it all figured out — just stay curious, courageous, and kind. Let your heart guide your head, and the rest will follow.

About my job

I design international projects that promote climate-resilient, inclusive supply chains and sustainable industries. In doing so, I combine innovation, impact finance and trade policy – always with a strong focus on justice. In my professional life, I was able to gain valuable international experience and put my commitment to climate and social issues into practice. During my studies, I learnt to understand complex systems, develop projects strategically and work together with a wide range of stakeholders to bring about change.

What do I love about my job? It’s a real mission: I work with inspiring people from all over the world and every day brings the opportunity to bring about real change. Above all, my job requires systemic thinking, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and the courage to question established ways of doing things and dare to try something new.
