One of the newest and unique forms of digital imagery is the cinemagraph, in which some parts of a motionless frame are animated and loop seamlessly. Its impact goes beyond the typical approach of advertising and is therefore gaining popularity on social media platforms, websites and in digital advertising campaigns. This study explores the medium's state of the art and goes into detail on the features that define it. In addition to this, a
proposal for the improvement of this medium is developed and implemented as a prototype. An important technical innovation was the integration of AR elements: this prototype was evaluated to determine which advancements could improve cinemagraphs.
