Application

You can apply for the Certificate Programme indicating the course you wish to study at FH JOANNEUM which require a German language level of B2 for admission.

Application documents

Documents required for Bachelor’s degree programmes:
  • signed letter of application / letter of motivation
  • signed CV
  • evidence of university entrance qualification (general or examination certificate)
  • with the exception of B2 German language certificate
  • German language certificate (A2 or higher)
  • English language certificate (B2 or higher) for degree programmes taught in German and English
  • copy of citizenship certificate or passport
Documents required for Master’s degree programmes:
  • signed letter of application / letter of motivation
  • signed CV
  • Evidence of completion of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Transcript of Records for examining the admission requirements
  • evidence of university entrance qualification (general or examination certificate)
  • with the exception of B2 German language certificate
  • German language certificate (A2 or higher)
  • English language certificate (B2 or higher) for degree programmes taught in German and English
  • copy of citizenship certificate or passport

We will review the documents and examine whether the applicants meet the admission requirements both for the chosen degree programme and the Certificate Programme (German language level A2). Applicants will then be notified that they meet the admission requirements for the chosen degree programme, with the exception of the language requirements (German at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Personal interview

Applicants will be invited to an admission interview (in person or online) by the Office of International Relations to assess their suitability and qualifications. If the number of applicants exceeds the fixed number of course places, applications will be ranked according to the following criteria:

  • Application documents / personal motivation: 25 %
  • Assessment / admission interview: 50 %
  • Number of points achieved in the A2 German language certificate: 25%
